3. NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS
- The certificate with the result of the diagnostic test is sent by email. It is a certificate valid for travel, in PDF format and in English and Spanish.
- The PCR test results are delivered in 24-48 hours.
Characteristics and description of the test
The ELISA test detects the presence of antibodies to the virus from a blood sample (like a conventional blood test), after obtaining the sample, it is analyzed in the laboratory.
There is a window period of high sensitivity from day 8 and very high sensitivity from day 15 of infection.
The difference compared to other serological tests is that the ELISA test gives the exact number of antibodies in the blood, which is very useful information for monitoring the disease.
